“I came to Sarah because I specifically needed someone who could help me with my IBS and who understood my past with an eating disorder.  I had gotten allergy testing to figure out why I had been so tired and bloated and windy and constipated.  The nutritionist gave me a list of 15 foods I needed to avoid so I did.  When I cut out all the foods I could feel those old thoughts creep in “Maybe if you cut out this food, too, it will help.  Oh, and you are losing weight, that’s a bonus, isn’t it?” It scared me, so I signed up for support and worked with Sarah.  As it turns out, I wasn’t allergic to any of those foods. Sarah helped me navigate my IBS so carefully and at the same time challenge the disordered thoughts. I wanted to do an elimination diet, but she knew better and deep down I did, too. We did a lot of different things and I found a combination of things that helps me stay regular. Best of all, she helped nudge me back on that path of eating disorder recovery when I was about to fall off again.”

Antonella knew that weight loss was possible, however, she found herself gaining it back time and time again. She felt trapped and wanted to learn to let go of control and restriction but felt afraid. Control around food was affecting her life as she was always concerned about “calories” and what was “healthy” or “unhealthy”.
